TALMAGE - Virginia L. Osborn, 88, died Jan. 8, 1997 in Nebraska City. She was born to Dr. Arthur J. and Josephine Lewis Sept. 17, 1908, at Courtland, Kan. Her high school years were spent at Ellsworth High School in Ellsworth, Kan. She attended college in Gulfport, Miss., and the University of Nebraska in Lincoln.
She was united i marriage to Merlyn C. Osborn at Salina, Kansas on March 23, 1930. Two sons, Denis L. and Merlyn Robb were born to this union. Virginia was baptized at the Charter Oak Christian Church in Talmage were she was active in the church life for many years. She was a square dance "caller", a member of the Eastern Star and the American Legion Auxiliary Post #246 in Talmage and with her husband was co-publisher of the Talmage Topics from 1960 to 1973.
Survivors include her sons Denis and wife MaLee of Canton, Ga., and Merlyn Robb Osborn of Talmage, two grandchildren, as well as other relatives. Her parents and husband preceded her in death. The cremains will be interred at a graveside service in Grant Cemetery southwest of Talmage in April of 1997. Memorials are suggested to the donor's local church or to the Talmage Rescue Squad.
