Biography

Altha, known as Elizabeth, or Eliza, was born in the United States in 1809. She was the daughter of Benjamin Lewis and his wife Sarah Baker. They moved to Upper Canada. She married William Cunningham on April 19, 1829 in West Gwillimbury, Ontario. The marriage ceremony was performed by Justice of the Peace George G. Ramsey.

They had children. They lived in Wellesley, Waterloo, Canada West in 1851.^[1]

Elizabeth passed away in 1883. ^[2]

Research

Some family trees suggest she was born in Pennsylvania and that parents were Benjamin Lewis and Sarah Baker. Evidence to support this is sought.
