Biography

Mary was a Friend (Quaker)

Robert's father, John Woody, is interred in the Spring Meeting Place in Orange {now Alamance { CO NC. When I visited there was no marker for Robert or his wife there; however there were several unmarked graves. The Quakers buried many soldiers of the Civil war in unmarked graves in this cemetery.

Mary Lindley Lewis Woody was born about 1741. Her parents are unknown, but the Lindley family is very closely connected to the Woody's.

She married Robert Woody, Sr. about 1757.

Robert and Mary had Ruth, Mary, Elizabeth, Robert, Jr., Lewis, Joseph, and William.

She died about 1785.
