Biography

Stephen Lewis jr. is a bit of a mystery. He was supposedly born in Dagsboro Hd., Sussex Co., Delaware of father Stephen Lewis and mother Rachel Meloy who were married before 1810 and the probate of her first husband, Jonathan Ake.

The only US census on which he appears as Jr. is 1830. [1] Apparently the 2 Stephens lived in the same hh as there is only 1 Stephen on the various censuses. Either Jr or Sr. died in 1849 [2]
