Biography
Charles Lewis, called Charley, was the second child, second son of Henry Lewis, a farmer of Dement, Ogle County, Illinois, and his wife Martha. Charles was born in Illinois about 1873, and he died after 1880. Bernard, his elder brother, was attending school in 1880, but the Census says nothing about Charley and his younger siblings doing the same.
