Enoch and Alice began living with Enoch's father Evan at Radnor until about Nov 1799. The Philadelphia Yearly Meeting of Friends had established the Westtown boarding school to be able to accept students in the Spring of 1799. The purpose of the school was to provide education which was better than most traditional schools.[4]
In late 1799, Enoch became a math teacher at Westtown boarding school. Enoch Lewis, and Joseph G. Harlan became distinctive advantages to promote the growing popularity of advanced mathematics.[5]
