Biography

According to Find-a-Grave, George Lewis (Lewes) was born at Brenchley, Kent, in 1571. George Lewes married Dennis Forman on 24 May 1596 in Brenchley. Find-a-Grave says that George Lewis died on 11 July 1631, and was buried at Brenchley. ^{[1] [2]} (For a marriage source, see Sources below) ^[3]

Children of George and Dennis (Forman) Lewis, all baptized at Brenchley, were:^[3]

1. Margery, baptized 4 December 1597, buried at Brenchley 18 June 1619.
2. George, baptized 31 August 1600; emigrated to New England.
3. James, baptized 17 April 1603; last record of him is a mention in his grandfather's will written 6 May 1610.
4. John, baptized 1 November 1607; emigrated to New England.
5. Elizabeth, baptized 2 February 1613/14; no further record.

Dennis (Forman) Lewis was buried at Brenchley on 10 January 1625/6. George was buried there 11 July 1631. He did not leave a will. ^[3]
