Judith (Lewis) Gibbons immigrated to New England as a child during the Puritan Great Migration (1621-1640).
Family and Origins
Judith Lewis was born before the 23rd of October 1626 in Shrewsbury, Shropshire, England and died May 25,1687 in York, Massachusetts Bay. She was the daughter of Thomas Lewis and Elizabeth Marshall.

Judith's father, Thomas Lewis migrated first to Saco by June 28, 1631, with his wife and 3 daughters arriving in 1637.[1]
Judith married James Gibbins about 1646 at Massachusetts Bay Province.

Judith inherited half of her father’s estate, the other half went to Elizabeth, her sister. Judith eventually acquired almost all the land. Her husband acquired power of attorney over her inheritance until his death.[4]
