Following Somer Lance Lewis' (Jerry's grand-daughter) appearance on KLFY a few weeks ago, someone suggested putting a family tree together. I broached this idea with Frankie Jean about 20 years ago, but getting her to sit down for more than five minutes at a time was nigh on impossible. I did, however, get some family history from her, and I've added to this over the years from my own research, including history on the extended family, including the Gilleys, Swaggarts, Herrons, Hamptons, Beattys, Jacobs, Glasscocks and Calhouns. It's certainly not perfect, nor complete, but I'm adding and correcting pieces of information all the time (I've updated information today regarding the family of Jane Wilkinson (nee Mitchum) and at present there are approximately 250 names on the tree. If anyone is interested in looking at the family tree, please let me know, and I'll contact Ian about how best this could be included on the forum. http://www.jerry-lee-lewis.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=41969. DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Jeremiah by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Jeremiah:
Lewis-36912 and Lewis-5940 appear to represent the same person because: Same person. Merger required to complete merger of son: Aaron Lewis-36913 and Aaron Lewis-5941.
Jeremiah is not likely the son of Jonathan Lewis (Lewis-5939). As noted in the Lewis-5939 profile, Jonathan's widow had remarried in 1721, 3 years before Jeremiah was born.
Also to my knowledge, no Jeremiah Lewis was baptized at St. Barnabas Church, Queen Anne Parish where Jonathan baptized his children.
I've also found no record of the last name of Jeremiah's wife, or that he had two wives. Do you have sources for this?
