Benjamin Lewis' birth date is unknown. While there is no documentation for the birth of Benjamin Lewes to Edmond and Mary in Lynn, recent DNA evidence indicates that Benjamin is likely descended from Edmond Lewes of Lynn, Massachusetts. This, plus the evidence presented by Helen Schatvet Ullman, [1] along with the work by G.H. Lewis, [2]suggest strongly that Benjamin Lewis of Stratford, Connecticut was indeed the son of Edmond Lewes and Mary, the unnamed sixth child mentioned in Edmond Lewes's will.
Benjamin was a early settler of Wallingford in 1670; had relocated to Stratford by 1679

Lewis-2650 and Lewes-170 appear to represent the same person because: Both profiles are based on an early genealogist that probably mixed a marriage date (1708) for a birth date. Please see the proof I've laid out on each profile showing the town records. I believe they are the same person and 1708 was his marriage date to his second wife. He started in Lynn, moved to Barnstable and ended up in Connecticut.
Apparently something happened when I tried to suggest a merge of Lewis-2650 with his "brother" Lewis-514. I never intended to mix up this Benjamin in that!
I have recently been in contact with a documented descendant of Benjamin Lewis of Stratford whose DNA closely matches my own. I am therefore reinstating Benjamin Lewis as the seventh child of Edmond Lewes and Mary mentioned in Edmond Lewes's will.
