Elizabeth was very active in the women's movement and in child labor causes. She wrote a book entitled "The Beginnings of Child Labor Legislation in Certain States: A Comparative Study", published in 1910. This first edition was issued as v. 6 of the US Bureau of Labor's Report on the condition of women and child wage earners in the United States, and also as a part of Senate Document No. 645, 61st Congress, 2d Session.
