KEYSER, W.Va. William G. "Bill" Lewis Jr., 69, of Route 6, Box 6142, Keyser, died Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2000, at the Memorial Hospital, Cumberland, Md. Born on Oct. 28, 1930, at Luke, Md., he was a son of the late William G. Lewis Sr. and Goldie Rebecca (McCauley) Lewis Smith. He also was preceded in death by two sisters, Viola Didawick and Evelyn Hershman. Mr. Lewis was formerly employed as an auto machinist with Hammond's Auto and Simpson Auto Supply. Surviving are his wife, Mary Lou (White) Lewis; 10 sons, William D. Lewis and wife Catherine, Robert Lee Lewis and wife Ethel, and John Ray Lewis and wife Rachel, all of Keyser, James Timothy Lewis, Inwood, W.Va., Donald Leslie Lewis and fiancee Ruth, Richard G. Lewis and wife Debra, Frederick Allen Lewis and wife Yvonne, and Paul Kenneth Lewis and wife Susie, all of Keyser, David W. Lewis and wife Robin, Elk Garden, W.Va., and Ronald A. Lewis and wife Kimberly, Keyser; one daughter, Mary Rebecca Ritchie and husband Matthew, Keyser; one brother, Albert Ray Lewis, Westernport, Md.; one sister, Helen White, Keyser; 28 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. Friends may call at the Smith Funeral Home, Keyser, on Saturday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted at the Smith Funeral Home on Sunday at 1:30 p.m. with the Rev. James Williamson and the Rev. Daniel Garlitz officiating. Interment will be in the PotomacMemorial Gardens, Keyser.
