Biography
Lavinia Light was born between 1775-1785 in New York, daughter of Lazarus Light (~1750 - 1786) and Elizabeth (Langdon) Light (<1751 - <1811).
Her siblings were:
- James R. Light (~1769 - ~1853)
- Henry Light (1770 - 1823)
- John W Light (1770 - ~1844)
- Samuel Jackson Light (1773 - 1831)
Lavinia (~19) married John Wallace Bates (~29) (~1775 - ~1843) in 1804 in Virginia. Their children were:
- Elizabeth (Bates) Ashurst (1806 - 1881)
- James Bates (~1808 - 1866)
- Thomas Bates (1809 - 1881).
Lavinia died on 12 Nov 1856 in Macon County, Missouri, USA aged ~71. [1]
