He was the son of William Lightfoot and Hannah Birchall.
At the census of 1861 he was six years old, living on Beam Street, Nantwich with his parents William and Hannah, both aged 41 with his siblingsElizabeth (21), Sarah (17), Ann (13) and John (1). [2]
His marriage took place on 22 May 1876 at St Mary's Church, Nantwich. [3] His profession is listed as a rivetter and his residence is Beam Street, Nantwich. His wife, Elizabeth Saunders, is a spinster residing in the Barony area of Nantwich, daughter of Joseph Saunders, a cordwainer.
