OLIVIA — Lloyd Lightfoot, 89, of Olivia, died Friday at Golden Living Center in Olivia.

The service is at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Faith United Methodist Church in Olivia with Pastor Russ Jacobsen officiating. Burial with military honors is at St. Aloysius Cemetery in Olivia.

Visitation is from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Dirks-Blem Funeral Home in Olivia and continues Wednesday for one hour prior to the service at the church.

Lloyd L. Lightfoot was born Dec. 21, 1921, at Redwood Falls to Dale and Alice (Wilcox) Lightfoot. His family moved to Olivia when he was young and he graduated from Olivia High School. Lloyd served his country during World War II in the U.S. Army, including time in Italy and North Africa. After his discharge he returned to Olivia. married Ione Jansen on Aug. 16, 1952, at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, and they were blessed with three children. Lloyd and Ione lived in Olivia and he was employed by the city of Olivia in the wastewater treatment and water department, retiring in 1986. was a longtime member of the Olivia Golf Club, the Lions, the VFW and the American Legion. He enjoyed many hobbies, including fishing, golfing, morel mushroom hunting, playing cards and watching sports and the news on TV. Lloyd was very gifted at repairing items and thus loved tinkering to "make things work again" as well as doing handyman tasks for family and friends. is survived by his wife, Ione Lightfoot; his children, Linda (and Daryl) Goblirsch of Olivia and John (and Vicki) Lightfoot of Glencoe; his grandchildren, Andy (and Shaunna) Goblirsch of Lakeville, Erin (and Jason) Moen of Zimmerman, Tom (and Rachel) Goblirsch of Forest Lake, Brittany Lightfoot of Glencoe, and Cole (and special friend Amy Diehl) Lightfoot of Glencoe; his great-grandchildren, Tyler, Amelia, and Jenna Goblirsch, Alexa, Zachary, Natalie and Jacob Moen, Preston Goblirsch, and Peyton Lightfoot.; his sister, Vivian Lightfoot of Las Vegas, Nev.; his brothers, Howard Lightfoot of Hendersonville, N.C., and Curtis (and Betty) Lightfoot of Atascadero, Calif.; his brother-in-law, Bruce Lundquist of Colorado Springs, Colo.; "honorary aunt to the family" Bev Laird; and many nieces and nephews. was preceded in death by his parents; a son and daughter-in-law, Tom and Michelle Lightfoot; and a sister, Joyce Lundquist. 1 1 1
