Research Notes

Descendents and Ancestors of Henry Limbaugh published in August 2003 by Mark Evans and Barbara Limbaugh Kuncl. Jefferson W. Limbaugh is listed as Thomas Jefferson Wilson Limbaugh (#161 on page 28). His son is also listed as Thomas Jefferson Wilson Limbaugh.

1850 Census appears to show him as Thomas J. Limbaugh with wife Hannah. Occupation shows as editor so this does match up with him but is the only place I see any reference to Thomas other than the above listed book. Also wife Hannah shows as 7 years younger which matches to the ages.

The obituary of his son shows Jefferson W. Sr., died of Cholera. His find a grave includes some text from a newspaper article that also states this.

Jefferson Limbaugh, Sr., in 1849, began the Southern Democrat newspaper in Jackson.

Profile (as adopted) is showing his mother as Hannah Elizabeth Statler but he appears to be born prior to the marriage to Daniel. There is a record of Daniel marrying 1st to Sarah Hall and his birth date works to be with this marriage. There is a copy of the marriage record of Daniel Limbaugh and Elizabeth Stadler on page 245, Descendants and Ancestors of Henry Limbaugh (1775-1833), by Mark Evans and Barbara Limbaugh Kuncl, published Aug 2003 copy in possession of Limbaugh-232.
