Hannah Lincoln was born on 13 or 15 March 1663 in Taunton, (then) Plymouth Colony, the daughter of Thomas[1] and Mary (Austin) Lincoln.
She married Peter Branch about 1682 probably in Taunton.[2] Peter Branch was among the petitioners for the establishment of a new town at Preston, Connecticut in 1686, and it is here that all of their children were born.[2]
Peter Branch of Preston, Connecticut sold land on 5 November 1696 in Taunton, Bristol, Province of Massachusetts Bay to Nicholas Moorey of Taunton. The land had been received by his wife Hannah as a gift from her father Thomas Lincoln, by deed of gift dated 04 May 1694 "given to Hannah my wife by her father Thomas Linkon dec'd". The wording of the deed makes it clear that Hannah was alive on 05 November 1696. The deed was acknowledged by Peter Branch at Taunton on 05 November 1699, and recorded on 14 January 1699/1700.
[3]
Peter died in Preston on 27 December 1713. [2] Peter's estate settlement, dated 13 March 1714/5, named his children as Mary, age 28; Hannah, 27; Elizabeth, 23; John, 21; Peter, 19; Thomas, 16; Samuel, 14; Sarah, 10; and Joseph, 7.[2]
Children from husband's 1715 estate settlement:[2]
Mary, b. ca. 1687
Hannah, b. ca. 1688
Elizabeth, b. ca. 1692
John, b. ca. 1694
Peter, b. ca. 1696
Thomas, b. ca. 1699
Samuel, b. ca. 1701
Sarah, b. ca. 1705
Joseph, b. ca. 1708
Note on Erroneous Marriage to Samuel Staples
The Hannah Lincoln who married Samuel Staples was not the daughter of Thomas Lincoln and Mary Austen. Please don't merge or mix up the two Hannahs.
The Hannah Lincoln, daughter of Thomas Lincoln and Mary Austen, was married to Peter Branch. From Taunton Deeds, 3, p 77: 4 January 1694, Peter Branch of Preston, Conn., sold land in Taunton “that belonged to my wife Hannah Lincoln, daughter of Thomas Lincoln, of Taunton, Mass.” (Bristol Co Deeds 3:79) Hannah’s father was the miller of Taunton, Massachusetts. Her grandfather, Thomas Lincoln, also the miller, came from Hingham, England, to Hingham, Massachusetts, about 1636, and his mill at Taunton, Massachusetts, was used as a place of meeting for the conference with King Philip before the war. She died in 1731.
The Hannah Lincoln who married Samuel Staples: The will of Samuel Staples, who died in Smithfield, RI on 19 FEB 1743
mentions his wife Hannah. Since Hannah was living when he died, then this Hannah could not have been married to
Peter Branch.
Also, it would have been very odd for Hannah to have been married to two different men during the same time period and having children by each husband.

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Hannah by comparing test results with other carriers of her mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known mtDNA test-takers in her direct maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Hannah:
There seems to be a conflation of two or three Hannah Lincolns on this profile. You'll note that Peter Branch was apparently having children from 1685-1707 in Preston, New London, CT. Samuel Staples, meanwhile, was having children in Dedham and Rehoboth, Mass., from 1696-1716, overlapping the Branch children by quite a few years. So the wives of these two men must be different. Then there is a third marriage to Owenswhich was recorded in Taunton, Mass., on 23 Dec 1689. Seems as if there are three different Hannahs that need to be teased apart.
Based on Peter Branch's estate settlement in 1714, Hannah was his widow when he died in Dec 1713. So she could not have married Owens or Staples and these marriages should be detached.
Please see this profile link of a Hannah and Daniel Owens above, which one is correct? This is confusing but, looks like cleanup should be done before I merge to your Hannah profile as they look like the are the same person? It looks like different records so we need to figure out which one is correct, because I need my tree to be accurate. You have a completely different birth date for Hannah and you have a different father. Also your Daniel Owens is not developed. Help. I have my Hannah as you can see from the link plugged into Samuel and there is a birth certificate. Atleast they are going the right Grandfather, but something is not right. Profile Manager can you please help me with this?
Everything appears to be correct with my profile and everything appears to be correct with your profile as their were 2 Hannahs! One married to Daniel Owens which is MINE, and YOURS is the one that married Peter Branch. SO everything is correct, but you need to take Daniel Owens OFF your profile because That is NOT accurate, and in actuality it lends to confusion keeping it attached unless you have proof that Daniel Owen Also married more than ONE Hannah. My Hannah is the one of 1666. Please go to this link and you will see she is the daughter of Samuel. https://www.familysearch.org/tree/pedigree/landscape/LZ61-HQW
Lincoln-3039 and Lincoln-1360 are not ready to be merged because: Not ready to merge. There seem to be multiple women here, although they share the same birth or baptism record. No way that she could have had all those Branch children and married those other men in the same time period. Need some research here!
Lincoln-3039 and Lincoln-1360 appear to represent the same person because: Same birth. Both have Mr. Owens as a husband. Please evaluate see if they should be merged.
