Allyne was a Soldier of the Revolution. In June 1776, he served two days as private in Capt. Obadiah Beal's Company on coast guard duty at Hull. He was a seaman and tradition says the he was taken from a vessel which the British captured and was transported to England. He was placed in Dartmoor prison and died there.[2] He died in prison at Halifax, Nova Scotia in 1778.[3]
Allyne died intestate. On 9 Aug 1782, Persis Lincoln of Cohasset, widow, was admitted administratrix of the his estate. An inventory dated 14 Aug 1782 shows he left a house and half an acre of land and some personal property.[4]
