During the American Revolution, Abraham Lincoln was a sub-lieutenant, a representative to the General Assembly for Berks County, Pennsylvania. He was also a Berks county commissioner. [1]

After the death of his father he was Rep. for Berks in PA. General Assembly 1782-85, State Convention 1787 & Costitutional Conv. 1790 Lieut. Abraham Lincoln was a son of Mordecai Lincoln and Mary Robeson. He was a brother to the grandfather of President Lincoln. He was a resident of Berks County. Buried in Exeter Friends Cemetery, Exeter Twp. Berks County, PA[2]

They were married in 1728. Mordecai Lincoln Thomas Lincoln Abraham Lincoln Mordecai was born in 1686. Mordecai Lincoln ... He passed away in 1736. [1] "Mordecai Lincoln married Hannah, daughter of Richard and Sarah Bowne Salter previous to 1711, as in that year Hannah Lincoln is mentoned in a will of Captain John Bowne, 2nd (her uncle). The settlement of this estate involved a tedious lawsuit which is noted in Book No. 1, Minutes of Court, Freehold. Mordecai Lincoln's will was admitted to probate at Philadelphia, June 7, 1736. The plantation of Mordecai contained 1,000 acres situated in Exeter, now Berks County, Pennsylvania."[2] Notes Note: Mordecai was the GGG grandfather of Abraham Lincoln.

Removed to Monmouth County, N.J., and afts. to the Province of Pennsylvania. He m. (1) Hannah, dau. of Richard and Sarah Bowne Salter. She d. and he subsequently took a sec. w., whose chris.name was Mary. In his will, dated 22 Feb. 1735-36, proved 7 June, 1736, gives to sons Mordecai and Thomas all his land in Amity, Philadelphia County, Province of Pennsylvania; to dau's Hannah and Mary land already settled upon them by deed of gift;to s. John, (John, removed to Virginia and settled in Augusta County. His sons were John, Thomas, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.Abraham resided first at No. Carolina, but ab. 1782 removed to Beargrass Fort, Ky. His sons were Mordecia, Josiah, and Thomas (who was the father of President Lincoln.), 300 acres of land lying in the Jersey; to dau's Ann and Sarah 100 acres lying at Machepouix, in the Jersey, etc.; mentions and provides for w.Mary. Desires my loving and trusting friends and neighbors,Jonathan Robeson and George Boone, trustees to assist my wife as executrix.

In 1714 Mordecai first married Hannah Salter (27407) , daughter of Richard Salter (-aft 1728) & Sarah Bowne (15548) (27 Nov 1669-aft 1714), at Freehold, NJ. Born ca 1692 at Freehold, NJ.Hannah died at Berks Co., PA, ca 1727.

On 14 Feb 1715/6 Isaac first married Sarah Cummings (12340) ,daughter of Abraham Cummings (4005) (ca 1663-bef 1701) & Sarah Wright (25 Feb 1669/70-13 Dec 1752), at Scituate, MA. Born on 10Feb 1693/4 at Woburn, MA. Sarah died at Hingham, MA, on 17 Sep1720.

On 7 Feb 1738/9 Isaac second married Jael Garrett (10995) ,daughter of Joseph Garrett (26710) (10 Mar 1648/9-19 Jul 1714) &Ruth Buck (3391) (ca 1653-aft Aug 1701), at Scituate, MA. Bornon 2 Apr 1692 at Scituate, MA.120 Jael died at Cohasset, MA, on16 Aug 1770.

On 25 Feb 1715/6 Sarah married Daniel Tower (15943) , son of Ibrook Tower (5874) (ca 1643-22 Nov 1731) & Margaret Hardin(1647-19 Nov 1705).38 Born ca 1692. Baptized on 24 Jul 1692 at Hingham, MA.107 Daniel died at Cohasset, MA, on 21 Feb 1774.107 Occupation: farmer.

Daniel was Constable 1719. He resided in the second precinct of Hingham.38
