Biography

Jacob Lincoln was a son of "Virginia John" Lincoln, so named in "Virginia John's" 1786 will, transcribed by Waldo Lincoln in a book published in 1923. As such, Jacob was bequeathed two shillings six pence.

He served in the Virginia Militia near the end of the Revolutionary War, as Lt. Jacob Lincoln appears on a list for Rockingham County with the date March 26, 1781.

  1. His birth is recognized by the Sons of the American Revolution as 6 Nov 1751 in Berks, Pennsylvania[1]
  2. But Daughters of the American Revolution indicate his birth as 18 Nov 1751 in Lancaster, Pennsylvania[2]

Jacob Lincoln is entitled to Land, 334 Acres, Rockingham County, witness James Wood, Esq., 22nd Dec 1796. [3]
