Samuel was born on 25 Mar 1819, the son of John & Elizabeth Hess Lind. He was the 5th of eight children. He was married 4 times to: Hannah Housel Lind, Mary Ann Holm Lind, Catherine Elizabeth Stover Lind, and Amanda Flohr Lind. Records indicate that he had at least 12 children. He was a farmer and owned 160 acres in Plain Twp., Stark County Ohio. His obituary indicated that he was 62 years of age at his death and was an elder in the English Lutheran Church of Plain Twp. He passed away on 28 Apr 1881.
