Barbara was born 16 November 1795 at Montgomery County, North Carolina.[2] She was one of at least seven children of Leonard Lipe and Barbara Wentz.[2]
She married on 21 March 1814[3] or on 01 March 1815[2] at North Carolina, as her 1st, to Daniel M. Dry. Barbara and Daniel Dry had eight children between 1817 and 1833, but only four: Catherine, Lawrence, Lydia and Daniel lived to adulthood.[2]
She married on 19 Jan. 1841,[3] as her 2nd, to David H. Mead. The marriage was recorded at Perry County, Illinois as "DRY, Barbary [Mrs] 19 Jan 1841."[1]
