Biography

Samuel Lippincott[1][2][3][4] was born on 24 December (10 mo.) 1684 to Freedom and Mary Lippincott.[5][6] [7]

On 17 June 1708, Samuel married Hope Wills in Burlington Monthly Meeting, New Jersey.[8]Samuel and Hope had the following children:

  1. Mary Lippincott, b. 3 Dec 1710; m. Samuel Cole
  2. Freedom Lippincott, b. abt. 1714; m. Hannah Rakestraw
  3. Martha Lippincott, b. abt. 1719; m. Joseph White
  4. Aaron Lippincott, b. abt. 1726; m. Elizabeth Jennings

Samuel and Hope lived in Evesham, Burlington County, New Jersey.[9]

Samuel passed away in 1760 in New Jersey,[10][11]

1759, Mar. 20. Lippincott, Samuel. of Evesham, Burlington Co., 75 years old; will of. Daughter, Mary (wife of Samuel Coles). Grandchildren - Abel and Samuel Lippincott; Samuel and Judith, children of dec'd son Aaron; Samuel, Sarah and Martha White, children of dec'd daughter Martha. Sister, Mary Peake, Housekeeper, Mary Hoel placed in charge of grandson Samuel Lippincott, and the farm, left to him, until he is of age. Real and personal estate. Executors - son-in-law, Samuel Coles, Abraham Allin and cousin, Joshua Lippincott. Witnesses - William Sharp, Isaac Buzby, Silvester Sharp. Proved March 6, 1760.

1760, Feb 27, 28. Inventory, £1670.6.6 incl. purse or cash £246.15.9; bills, bonds and book debts, £844.6.3; 4 silver tea and 6 do. large servant man's time, £16; a clock, £9; made by Joshua Stokes, Joshua Ballinger and Enoch Roberts.

1763, June 2. Account by the Executors. [12]
