Biography

Abigail Little was born about 1635 at Plymouth, Plymouth Colony, the daughter of Thomas and Anna (Warren) Little.[1] Nine children were born to this marriage. The family resided at Plymouth first and then at the neighboring town of Marshfield. Abigail was the oldest.

She married Josiah Keene about 1654-1658. Although no town or church record of their marriage is extant her grandson Hezekiah Keen's account book[2] says "... [In] Meshfeld ... my Grandfather Josiah Keen mared with Abigil Lettle who he had my father Josiah Keen By & one Dafter Who Died young and my grandmother Dyed allso & Left only my father Josiah Keen who mared with Ledia Baker & Theay had Eleven children..."

The couple had two children, but only the son, Josiah survived childhood.[2]

Abigail died before 1660 probably in Marshfield when Josiah married Hannah Dingley as his second wife and had seven more children.[2]

Children of Josiah and Abigail (Little) Keene, born probably in Marshfield:[2][1]

  1. Josiah, b. bef. 1660, d. 1732; m. Lydia Baker.
  2. A daughter, died young.
