THE LITTLEFIELD FAMILY: CORRECTION: -- In THE REGISTER, vol 86, p. 73, I stated that Lydia, dau. of the first Caleb Littlefield of Block Island, married (1) 14 June 1716 Robert Gardiner of Kingston, married (2) bef. 20 Feb. 1757 William Willis. This is not correct. The Lydia Littlefield who married William Willis was her niece Lydia, born 22 dec. 1731, dau. of Samuel Littlefield and sister of Nathaniel Littlefield, born 27 Oct. 1733. Her husband, William Willis was her first cousin born 23 Feb. 1733, the son of Henry and Mercy 9Littlefield) Willis (see THE REGISTER, vol. 86, p. 74). This William Willis removed to Sag Harbor, Long Island, where he was living in 1797.
