Biography

Henry W. Livingston, brother of the first Mrs. Breese, was born about 1777, and was admitted an Attorney of the Supreme Court, October 1790. He lived in Utica and carried on law business from the year 1808 until 1813 or '14. As the agent of John B. Church, he sold lands in Cosby's Manor, and dealt also in land elsewhere in the State. He died in Hartford CT. He is represented as of tall and showy physique, and altogether a gentleman of the old school.

Bible entry.

1813. October 26th at two o'clock in the morning, died my beloved son Henry Welles in the city of Hartford in Connecticut at the house of his relation Henry Hudson Esq. His age 35 years 2 months & 26 days. In 1801 he commenced the profession of the law, and during the last 6 years resided in Utica. On the 9th of Sepr he set off from the place of his residence on a Journey to Boston. At Albany he was attacked with a typhus fever which continued increasing until, on his return, at Hartford on the 22nd of Sepr he could proceed no further. His remains are interred in the division appropriated to the Hudson family in the Presbyterian cemetery. On a monument of white marble is engraved

He reverenced the religion of his God. Exercised every charity of life; and was deservedly beloved by a numerous acquaintance.
