James Livingston is Notable.

James was the younger son of William Livingston, by his second wife, Margaret Houston daughter of Sir John Houston of Houston.[1] born on 25 Jun 1616.[2]

He was a devoted Scottish Royalist who was raised to the peerage of Scotland as Viscount Kilsyth and Lord Campsie in 1661.[3] and also was laird of Barnelofets and Barncloich

On 23 April he was served heir male of his brother's grandson. Being a devoted loyalist he garrisoned Kilsyth Castle against Oliver Cromwell, for which and for other services he received from Charles II a letter of thanks dated 7 October 1650.

He was excepted from Cromwell's Act of Grace in 1654, and fined £1,500. After the Restoration he was on 17 August 1661 raised to the peerage of Scotland by the title of Viscount Kilsyth and Lord Campsie. He died the following 7 September in London.[4]

James Livingstone married Eupheme, daughter of Sir Robert Cunningham of Robertland. They had two sons, James, 2nd viscount, and William, 3rd and last viscount, who having engaged in the rebellion of 1715 was attainted of high treason, and died an exile in Holland in 1733. [4]

Of his two daughters, Elizabeth married General Robert Montgomery, fifth son of Alexander, 6th Earl of Eglinton, and Anne died unmarried.[4]

Livingstone-609 and Livingston-735 appear to represent the same person because: 609 is basically just a shell. Of the four children, 609 had one and 735 had one. They were both properly vetted children but for simplicity, I set 735 as father of both (they already shared his wife as mother).

The only data items fore 609 are name, title, dob, and dod all of which match exactly.

I did update the profile for 735 to include proper sourcing. Anything in the bio of 609 can be ignored.

Livingstone-609 and Livingston-735 are not ready to be merged because: We need to be super, super careful with merges within this branch of that family tree. The family divided into two parallel lines, leaving cousins, parents, psrents, and grandparents with the same NAMES but entirely different people. Their birth dates and locations will also be close. I spent many weeks sorting out who is who. Unless you have irrefutable evidence, such as DNA, I advise not to merge.
