Your Watchlist has 23821 profiles. This is very large. Our systems are designed to handle 5,000. Contributing to more than 5,000 profiles is great (the community thanks you for it!) but don't feel you have to keep so many on your Watchlist. Despite the terminology, there is no shame in "orphaning" Open profiles. :-) This invites others to share responsibility. Since you have more than 10,000, Bulk Trusted List changes tool may not work for you. If so, please contact [email address removed] for help reducing your Watchlist.

Hello Roger, I was just looking through possible matches and it looks like you have two profiles for the same individual. You can see the details in the linked image, let me know if you have a problem accessing it. https://cln.sh/h6fb2b
Roger, you removed some information, as you do not wish to post information post-1925. I respect that, so I am submitting the information below in accordance with his wishes.
As I am the grandson of Eric Ridsdale Reed, I am posting information about my grandfather's life. ALL of this information is publicly available on the internet, without paying any kind of fee at any website, so the question of privacy does not apply. Additionally, all of my grandparents' siblings have died, as well. So, to sum up the publicly available information about my grandfather's life:
Eric Ridsdale Reed was born on 4 May 1893 in Bengal, India to William Louis Lindsay Reed.
He started his Naval education on 15 Jan 1906.
He was confirmed as a midshipman on 15 Sept 1910.
He was confirmed an acting sub-lieutenant 15 Jan 1913.
He was confirmed as a Lt. Commander on 15 Oct 1923.
He was married to Edith Claudia Kathleen Ash on 6 Sept 1922 at Uckfield, Sussex
Edith Ash is the younger daughter of William Claudius Casson Ash, DSO, Lt-Colonel, Middlesex Regiment, wounded in action 15 Sept 1915. Returned to the front, severely wounded 15 Sept 1916 in the Battle of Flers, died of his injuries 29 Sept 1916.
Eric Reed was Captain of the HMS Alecto from 29 Nov 1935 to 1 Feb 1938
He participated in the Dunkirk Evacuation, commanding the PS (Paddle Steamer) Whippingham, previously a ferry to the Isle of Wight, converted to a minesweeper during the war. On Friday, May 31, he was noted by name in one history of the evacuation as "determined to break records". He embarked 2,500 troops from the East Mole and successfully returned them to England without being sunk. Look at pictures of the Whippingham and imagine how cramped that must have been!
He had retired on 4 May1938, as a Commander, but was recalled when WWII began, seconded to the Naval Ordinance Inspection Department.
Hi Roger .Remember me John Loring Webb. You might be able to help me.I want to add family members to my own family tree, but I don't know how to go ab out.
How is the various there .I heard on the news tonight that London is in Lockdown.
If you can help it would be much appreciated. Thanks John
Hello Roger, I'm going through my gedcom file and looking at Williams-78197. He was christened in Hereford (about 50 metres from the house where I grew up) and his siblings, before and after, were Herefordshire, so should he be the same rather than Hertfordshire? I have him as born 1814, Mordiford, Herefordshire, England, died Sep 1868, Ludlow, Shropshire but I'll check before matching. Michael.

Thanks for the note on him and rejecting the merge, are you able to out that detail and source on his profile? I came across him working in the data doctor reports and the one was in sources. .
I had considered that as a possibility but without that note on him it looked like a duplicate, so having that may save your sanity .. I know I've got a guy who married 2 wives with the same name..and the two women were also double first cousins to boot and one who named 3 of his daughters Mary and a son Marry and tried to be very clear and hoping that works for mine that are in the same situation ..Would have been so nice back then a little more name variety ..
Wish you a Happy New Year. May 2018 bring you all you need to be happy.
Congratulation for adding your contributions in December. Whatever the quantity of your contributions, they all count. As I always say "Quality is better than quantity" to make a great family tree.

The surname should be Guthrie. Perhaps you could correct this as only the Profile Manager can correct the Last Name At Birth.
Thanks.
Hello Roger, I was wondering if you might have any sources that you could add to the above profile?
Many thanks in advance for your help.
Julie
PS There is an excellent discussion on finding sources on G2G which you may find of interest:
