Biography

The Garard/Garrard/Gerard/Gerrard/Girard Descendants of Rev. John, Elias, & William by Robert and Carolyn Gerard (2002 ed) pp. 11 shows Mary Lloyd, daughter of Henry Lloyd and Judith Pemberton md Nathaniel Gerard in 1772, in Bedford Co, PA (which later became Huntingdon Co)

Sometime between 1790 and 1796, the family moved to Hamilton Co, OH territory where Nathaniel is listed on tax lists in Sycamore Twp.

On Nov 3, 1804, Nathaniel and Mary were 2 of seven believers who met to constitute the Staunton Baptist Church. The family appears in the 1820 census for Staunton Twp, Miami Co, OH, with both Nathaniel and wife over 45 yrs. of age and in 1830 census both are between 70-80 which means both were born between 1750-60. They both signed a deed in 1832. No record of either death or tombstone has been found.

The names of all their children are not known. The Garard book lists 10: Henry, Mehetable, David Washington, Abner, Isaac, Nathaniel Jr., John, Margaret or "Peggy", James, and William."

Lloyd-1783 and Lloyd-166 appear to represent the same person because: While birth is undocumented, both marry Nathaniel Gerard in 1772. Appears to be same person
