  • Beginning with Daniel's marriage to Ede, this is first and second hand information from Susan's great grandmother and grandmother. They began a family tree in the 1930s and this information was all a part of the original tree and told to me in stories many times.
  • I only discovered the existence of an earlier family when I started to add to the tree in the 1970s. The six oldest children could have easily have started their lives as adults in North Carolina, since they never seemed to have moved to Tennessee.
  • That leaves Robert, Matthew Beale, and Antoinette (Richard had died when he was 3) - all born in North Carolina, but lived much of their lives in Tennessee.
