Caleb Locke, who married Betsey Dyer, February 18,1762, was of Hollis in 1763. Their first child, Betsey, was born in Hollis June 17,1763. There were eight children in the family. The fifth was named Caleb II, born December 7,1773.
The first Caleb was one of the settlement's earliest shoemakers. Some old wooden shoe molds were found in a nearly inaccessible place by the present owners.
Caleb Locke Jr. had a son named Samuel, who had a son named Caleb (4) who lived on the family farm. His son Charles, a farmer and mason, married Nellie Stuart, Warren Stuart's Aunt. They too, lived and raised their family here. Charles Locke's daughter married Roy Dixon, Mr. Dixon sold the property to three joint owners ......
