John Lockhart was born on 15 December 1821 at Paisley, Renfrewshire, Scotland and baptized on 6 January 1822 at High Church, Paisley[1]. He was the son of Robert Lockhart and Christian Ramsay.
In 1841 John was living with his parents, Robert and Christian, and six siblings - Alexander (18), Robert (8), Marien (7), Archibald (5), James (4) and William (1) at Georges St , Paisley, Renfrewshire[2]. He was a cotton hand loom weaver aged 20. He had left home by 1851.
I have found two John Lockharts born in Paisley in the 1851 census and will need further research to determine which is him. There is no statutory record of his death with his mother's maiden name of Ramsay on ScotlandsPeople. He may have died before 1855.
