Vivian Loftin was born on 18 December 1920 in Douglas, Missouri, United States, daughter of Robert Hosa Loftin (1883–1955) and Lula Ethel Fleetwood (1893–1957).
Her siblings were:

- Melvin Loftin (2 September 1918 – 29 January 1997)
- Mattie Loftin (31 May 1925 – about 25 January 2001)
Vivian married James Ervin Currier (born on 23 May 1919 in Girdner, Douglas Co., Missouri; son of Joseph Currier and Stella Pearl (Turner) Currier).
Vivian died on 29 December 2003 in Yakima, Washington, United States, aged 83.[1]
