After High School, George attended Scranton Technical School for 1 year to learn drafting.
When George was 21 years old he took the oath and served our country in the US Air Force in 1951 in Adelanto, California. A veteran of the Korean War. He served at George Air Force Base until 1954. His job/position was technical support in the dental clinic on base.
GEORGE GUSTAV LOHMANN married TANYA BLOSSOM ALEXANDER in Adelanto, California, on August 8, 1954, when he was 23 years old. George & Tanya lived on George Airforce base in Victorville, California. They were married there at the base chapel on Sunday at 2 pm. They went to Big Bear Lake, California on their honeymoon.
After his stay in the service in California, he tried several occupations to discover his career interest. after George left the Air Force, in1958 he worked as a clerk in U.S Steel - doing drafting and blueprint.
George and Tanya had three children (Lori, Janet, and Dena)
In the summer of 1973 (July), George moved the family from Huntington Beach, California to Ross Township, Pennsylvania. He lived there for the rest of his life.
At age 80, of Ross Twp., passed away March 2, 2011.
His wishes were to be cremated. In the Spring of 2016, the ashes of Tanya and husband George were added to the ground where a memorial Japanese Weeping Cherry was planted in Gibsonia, Pennsylvania.
Obituary: Beloved husband of Tanya B. (Alexander) Lohmann; George was the father of three girls. A Veteran of the Air Force serving during the Korean War. He was a true family man.
