Marybelle “Peggy” Evans

EAST LIVERPOOL – Marybelle "Peggy" Evans went to be with our Lord on February 8, 2015. Marybelle along with her late husband Rodney was a former operator and owner of Evans Fruit Market where they provided great service and good quality produce for over 54 years. She was born in Fly, Ohio on October 17, 1925 to the late Clarence D. and Mary E. (Raper) Lohri.

A graduate of New Matamoris High School in 1944 she was a member of the Rose of Sharon Class of the First Church of the Nazarene in East Liverpool.

Mrs. Evans was preceded in death by her husband, Rodney C. Evans on November 11, 2004. They were married on August 28, 1944, her brother: John E. Lohri, an infant brother and sister: Dale and Arvella Lohri; a grandson Rodney Jason Cunningham in 2011; a granddaughter: Christine Elizabeth (Smith) Seibert in 2012 and a great granddaughter: Rachel Wilcox in 2010.

She is survived by two daughters, Pamela S. Smith and her husband, Dave, and Linda Kaye Cunningham both of East Liverpool. One brother, David Lohri and his wife Stephanie of Charlotte, N.C. and a sister, Nancy Ritchie of Columbus, Ohio; a former son-in-law: William H. Cunningham, Jr.; Grandchildren: Amy (James) Guerrini, C. David (Jackie) Smith, Michael F. (Mindy) Smith, Eric (Emma) Cunningham, Mary-Ann Grace and Kenneth A. (Tammy) Cunningham; 12 great grandchildren, 9 great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at the Calcutta Chapel of the Martin MacLean Altmeyer Funeral Homes on Thursday, February 12, 2015 at 11:30 a.m. with Pastor Smith, a close family friend officiating. Burial will follow in the Columbiana Co. Memorial Park.

Family will be present to receive friends at the Funeral Home in Calcutta on Wednesday, February 11, 2015 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.
