She never would say precisely why she divorced him, which was unusual at that time-- only that he wanted to do things that weren't proper. Second husband, John Bartlett; married June 26, 1917, Canadian County, Oklahoma. She was a drill-press operator in El Segundo, California during World War II. She bought a Studebaker Lark in 1959 or 1960 with cash she had saved from selling eggs and baby sitting for the Halligans in Caney, Kansas.
