Biography

Joshua Lombard immigrated to New England as a child during the Puritan Great Migration (1621-1640).

Joshua Lombard was baptized in Thorncombe, Dorsetshire England on 15 Oct 1620, son of Thomas Lombard by his second wife, name unknown.[1]

He emigrated with his father and married in Barnstable 27 May 1651 Abigail Linnett.[2][3]

Joshua died between 22 Jan 1689/90 and 22 April 1691 the dates that his will was written and proved. The will of Joshua Lumbart of Barnstable named his wife Abigail, sons Jonathan and Joshua, daughter Susanna Lovel and granddaughter Abigail Whitstone. Son Jonathan to be executor, with friends Deacon Job Crocker and Edward Lewis to be overseers.[4][5]

1694 moved to Martha's Vineyard. Fathered 9 children with Abigail Linell. Son, Jonathan, was the first documented case of inherited deafness in the secluded community[6]

I've attached daughter Abigail (Lombart) Whetstone and we will need to resolve that there are two daughters named Abigail attached. Looking at a couple of the Great Migration sketches, Anderson has Abigail marrying John Whetstone, and as the mother of Abigail Whetsone the granddaughter named in Joshua's will.

Lombard-1084 and Lombard-6 appear to represent the same person because: 1084 seems disconnected, but the descendants come back to common family, so merging these will resolve the disconnect.
