April 1889—Mr. James Long, an old resident of this township, died at his home on the 12th inst., aged 81 years.

His funeral services took place on Sunday at the Avery school house, conducted by Jas. Patterson, of Croswell. The remains were followed to the Burlingame burying ground by a very large concourse of friends and neighbors.

James Long, who died last week leaves 11 children, 67 grand-children and 13 great-grandchildren. His wife died some months since.
