He married Mary Sharp. The reported birthplaces of his children suggest he moved west from Orange County, North Carolina to Claiborne County, Tennessee about 1810, though no tax or records are available for the county until 1830.[1]
From there, Henry moved to Morgan County, Illinois around 1831. Sons, Conrad, Jacob, and William, and their families continued on to Brown County and settled onto farms near each other in what has become Pea Ridge township.
According to his probate documents, Henry died in Morgan County, Illinois about the 30 January 1846.[2] He is believed to be buried at nearby Morrison Cemetery.[3]
