Biography

Seymore was a Coachbuilder.

Seymore Edward Long was born in 1866 in East Germantown, Indiana. He was the son of Catherine Erhart and Henry M. Long. His father and his uncle Edward McCauley Long were in the carriage making business, and Seymore learned to make carriages at an early age

Seymore left to go work in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania painting circus wagons for Forepaugh Circus. Seymore went on to marry Maryann Maine Forepaugh on 16 Nov 1886. After Maryann’s death, Seymore married her sister, Isabella. Seymore and Maryann had seven boys: Harry, Walter, Horace, Andrew, Clifford (who died young), Charles Elwood and Russell. Seymore and Isabella had three children: Lulu, Seymore and Jane. Isabella died two weeks after Jane was born.

Seymore Long worked in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania painting circus wagons for Forepaugh Circus.

Seymore’s father and his uncle Edward had been in the carriage manufacturing business and Seymore along with his father made carriages for the Forepaugh circus. Seymour passed away in 1948.
