George Long was born in Dry Creek, South Australia in 1844, the son of Thomas Long[1]. I cannot find his birth record.

George married 19 year old Elizabeth Ann Cobbledick at her father's residence at Mount Lofty on 14 June 1866 and she died 9 months later on 5 March 1867, 6 weeks after she gave birth to their daughter Jessie Emma Long who died 10 hours after she was born.

He then married Eliza Ann Johnson at the Salisbury Congregational Church on 22 June 1868[2].

I cannot find any children registered George and Eliza in SA.

George Long, died on Saturday 16 October 1915 at Williston (Gawler), aged 71[3]. He was born at Dry Creek in 1844. Six years later his parents started farming on the Gawler plains, but they went to Goolwa in 1872. He afterwards farmed in the hundreds of Napperby and Arkaba, and then removed to Angle Vale. He conducted a wheat agency at Port Parham for twenty years. He was for two years president of the Two Wells Agricultural Society, and two years president of the Dublin Institute. In 1904 he sold his business and retired to Willaston, where he resided until his death[4].

Long-31636 and Long-1759 appear to represent the same person because: They are obviously the same person.
