Elizabeth Long was born May 29, 1738, daughter of David Long and [Lockwood-794|Anne Lockwood]] in what was then Somerset Co. , Province of Maryland (became Sussex Co., Delaware in 1775).

She married Jesse Newport abt 1758 in what had become Worcester County, Maryland in 1742.
On 27 Dec 1777, " Jesse Newport and wife request for themselves and 7 (of 9) children (named) to be joined with and come under the care of Friends..."

They relocated to Oxford township, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania where Elizabeth died abt 1786.
