Henry Clay Long's birth is recorded in the James Long Bible as Sept 24 1844 of mother Jenetty Long (maiden name); no father is recorded ^{[1] [2]}

Henry 's first marriage was to Eliza in 1866. ^[3] After Eliza died abt 1910 he married 2nd to Ruth T Long, widow Polite, who must have died before 1920 because Henry is found, age 75, living with son Ivy/Iva in Selbyville,Delaware. ^[4]
