Mary Emma Long was born on February 22, 1848 in Locust Township, Columbia, Pennsylvania, United States, daughter of Rudolph Long (~1808–~1867) and Experience McCommon (1808–1894).

Mary (38) married Issac Daniel Gensel (45) (born on July 18, 1841 in Columbia; son of Adam Gensel and Sarah (Breech) Gensel) on October 18, 1886. Their children were:

Mary died on December 21, 1931 in Luzerne, Pennsylvania, aged 83. She was buried in Pine Hill Cemetery, Shickshinny, Luzerne County, Pennsylvania.[1]
