Jane was born around 1795, possibly in Sequatchie, Marion, Tennessee. Her parents are unknown. She has been detached from William Long and Margaret Shaw as parents due to a lack of sources.
She married Robert Kirkland circa 1813 in Marion, Tennessee.
Jane died in September of 1831 in Marion County, Illinois, and was buried in the Kirkland Cemetery in Sorento, Montgomery, Illinois. [1]
Research needs to be done to see if the various Longs that married the various Kirklands were related (likely they were):
There is a Henry Long (1764-1836) that was born in Virginia and died in Greene, Tennessee. I located a handwritten note pn p. 34 of a typed report entitled Genealogy of Ware Long of Culpepper that states that Ware Long had sons Nicholas and Henry who died in Greene County, Tennessee. On p. 35, the typed report states that Henry or his brother Nicholas married Margaret Turner, a sister of Sarah, wife of their brother Christopher. Henry accompanied his brothers John and Nicholas and settled in Kentucky or Tennessee (writer was not aware of which).Genealogy of Ware Long of Culpeper (Just located a Rev. War pension record that shows that Nicholas Long's wife's name was Margaret Darlene Athey Hill).
