There are quite a few family trees that include Hannah available on the web, This one has not been finally confirmed in each detail, however, there are sufficient details that are confirmed and sufficient corroborative evidence for me to be quite comfortable with this entry. Hannah Long was born in Seend in or shortly before 1813, this is evidenced by the census entries of 1851, 61, 71, 81 and 91 and is corroborated by her baptismal record at Seend church in March 1813.
She married John Gingell, at St Michaels', Melksham on 23 April 1834 (St George's Day). Their first child Eliza Ellen was born in 1835.
Her married life was probably hard. There was little money and at least six children were born. For some of her married life she shared her marital home, not just with John and her children, but also with other complete family units of the extended Gingell family in one cottage. (1861 census).
In the 1881 census, probably taken within three or four months of her widowhood, she was listed as a pauper and in the home of one of her sons. By the time of the 1891 census she appears to have moved permanently to Potterne, and living in the home of her eldest daughter, Eliza Ellen and her son-in-law John Orchard. She died at Potterne in 1893.
