Biography
Tabitha Longfellow was born on 9 October 1774 in Gorham, Maine. Her parents were Stephen Longfellow and Patience (Young) Longfellow[1]. She was the aunt of poet Henry Wadsworth Longfellow.
Tabitha married Lothrop Lewis on 20 January 1794 in Gorham[2]. They had several children, but only two survived beyond infancy[3]:
1. Stephen Longfellow, born 14 Mar 1795; married Jane Thomas
2. Mary Longfellow, born 15 Nov 1796; married Jacob Smith
Tabitha passed away on 15 April 1807[4] and is buried in South Street Cemetery in Gorham along with her parents.
