277. Henry Franklin, born Mar. 1, 1820. He married, Oct. 5, 1848, Eleanor B., daughter of Dea. Sturges and Laura Penfield, who was born Jan. 6, 1821. He was a man of great business energy and of public spirit. He makes the interest of the community his own, and is never wanting when the public call for aid. He served terms in the State legislature, and has been president of the Rutland County Agricultural Society. They have no children.
