Biography

She fled to Canada in 1777 when her husband, Major James Gray, was arrested, sent to Albany and escaped. He was a Tory and fought for the English. Their property at Little Falls, on the Passaic River in New Jersey, where they operated an iron foundry, casting mill and grist mill, were confiscated.
