Rachel was born about 1754 in Virginia. A few compiled family tree shows her maiden name as "Lovin" or "Loving", but no documentary evidence exists in that regard. It is possible, but not proven, that she may have been a cousin of her second husband Gabriel Loving.
She was first married to Daniel Sisk. Daniel died in 1780 while fighting with a North Carolina unit at the Battle of King's Mountain.
They had four known children[1]:
She married Gabriel Loving on 27 August 1781 in Wilkes County, North Carolina. [2] Gabriel was appointed guardian of the four children on 25 October 1784 in Wilkes County, North Carolina.[1]
Rachel and Gabriel had the following possible children (needs to be reviewed and updated):
Jane Loving (1782–)
William Ransom Loving (1785–)
Joseph Loving (1786–1842)
Wiseman Loving (1803–)
John Loving (unk)
Her death date and place are currently unknown. [3]
